This week in the Hills: open garden festivals, wine-fuelled picnics, and I sat down with Liv from Little Daisy Roadside Stall, the Norton Summit local turning a vintage caravan into the prettiest little roadside flower stall you’ve ever seen. Plus, wine and crêpes in Piccadilly, birds to paint in Hahndorf, and a stacked line-up of events to help you make the most of the season.

Meet The Stallholders

At the end of a quiet road in Norton Summit, a little pastel caravan waits among the trees. Inside, fresh flowers, an honesty box, and a whole lot of heart.

Liv is the face behind Little Daisy Roadside Stall. A stall that blossomed from a lifelong love of floristry. She started in a flower shop at 19, bought the business a few years later, and eventually stepped away to raise her young family. But the pull to create never left.

What began as a simple cupboard on the roadside quickly grew into something more. A caravan was rescued from the driveway, her dad lent a helping hand, and Little Daisy took shape. Since then, it’s become a local gem where people stop to chat, leave notes, and brighten their day with a bunch of fresh blooms.

For Liv, it’s the little moments that matter most. A kind message from a local. A handmade gift left in the stall. The reminder that community and creativity are worth showing up for, even on the tough days. Watch our chat here.

Autumn in the Piccadilly Valley

Autumn in the Piccadilly Valley is golden, crisp and made for long, lazy picnics.
On Saturday 29 March, bring a blanket and settle in at Tiers Vineyard for a relaxed afternoon among the vines. Friwi Crêpes and Co will be serving sweet crêpes and savoury buckwheat galettes on the lawn, with wines from Tapanappa, DAOSA and Terre à Terre at the bar. Tastings available at the cellar door. No bookings needed for the picnic.

The Cedars in Autumn

There’s a quiet kind of magic at The Cedars in autumn. This April, join artist Zinia King for a gentle four-week painting course inspired by the birdlife of The Cedars.

Sip tea, try new techniques, and learn to paint native birds in a peaceful garden setting. No experience needed. All materials and step-by-step guidance are provided, along with a cuppa from The Cedars’ Kitchen.

SA Landscape Festival 2025

For one weekend only, some of South Australia's most beautiful private gardens will open their gates for the SA Landscape Festival.

Curated by Open Gardens SA and Master Landscapers of SA, the festival showcases ten award-winning, professionally designed gardens across the state, including hidden gems in the leafy foothills of Belair.

Stroll through stunning landscapes, chat with expert designers, and gather ideas to take home.

It’s relaxed, it’s creative, and it’s the perfect way to ease into the holidays with the kids.
