Roadside Stalls Tea Towel
Hand illustrated by Chris Edser
The Adelaide Hills roadside stalls are the heart of this artwork. Every honesty box, bunch of flowers, tray of fruit and little corner of character has been illustrated with care. The piece is filled with fine detail drawn directly from the stalls themselves, so you can keep a little of that roadside magic in your home.
Hand illustrated by acclaimed local illustrator Chris Edser, the artwork also includes subtle nods to the wider Hills landscape. The birds are all local species including the Adelaide Rosella, Grey Fantail and Eastern Spinebill. There is a gum tree inspired by one near the Kids of the Glen Corner Store, the Gumeracha Rocking Horse, the reservoir near Gorge Road, Greenhill Road climbing out of the city, the Mount Lofty towers, pine trees and a mushroom near Kuitpo Forest and a small church at Strathalbyn. These details sit quietly around the main illustrations, adding depth without taking focus away from the stalls.
